The world is changing so quickly, I fear I can never keep up. This year is ending and I hardly can remember the start. Sad, I suppose, though also thoroughly normal as one ages, so I'm told. I just wonder if it all isn't slipping by so fast that I can barely catch grains of sand in my weathered hands.
I loathe saying or writing utter shite like "In the fond yester-years" or "Back when I was a lad..."
I cannot bear to think of myself as a member of the aged regiment!
But so often, the sentiment is true. There is such anger and violence abounding, I fear for the future. I wouldn't want to step back in time, but I do hope our step forward into the new year is a step towards peace. I am sure that I am quite the dullard for thinking so, but I suppose I'll have to don the albatross.
Cheers.
